415 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND PATTERSON, George Frederick George was born onApril 20, 1917 in McGillivray Township, Ailsa Craig, Ontario, the son of William and Mabelle Patterson. George joined the Middlesex and Huron Regiment 1939-1940 and was also a farm mechanic from College. George enlisted on May 29, 1940 trained in St. Thomas, Toronto and No 4 (Br) Squadron in Ucluelet, BC with the Royal CanadianAir Force. George became a Flight Engineer and was promoted to Sergeant. During sea patrol, there was a flying accident. George died on Active Service on November 14, 1944. His name is on the Ottawa Memorial also on a stone at Parkhill Cemetery. PEARSON, Walter William Walter was born on December 30, 1921 in Brantford, Ontario. He enlisted in the Navy on June 4, 1942 during World War II and served with the Corvettes K110 Shediac and K104 Dawson in the Battle of Atlantic, Azores, and Mediterranean. Walter received the Atlantic Star, North Africa Star, 1939-1945 Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. After his discharge onAugust 31, 1945, he was employed with the Brantford Roofing and retired from there when it was called Domtar. Walter passed away on February 20, 2005. PEARSE, George Wilford George was born in North Devon, England on January 15, 1875. He enlisted in the Army on January 16, 1916 and joined the 149th Battalion to serve in World War I. He trained at Camp Borden and was declared medically unfit. Prior to his enlistment, he was a farmer and joined at the age of 41. He was discharged on September 22, 1916.
