385 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MITCHMORE, Leslie “Frank” Leslie was born in Totnes Devonshire, England on March 24, 1898. He enlisted in 1914 with the Devonshire Regiment. He was given the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. He was an Acting Corporal and served in England and in France during World War I. He was discharged in 1920. Frank travelled to Saint John, New Brunswick in 1921, then to Thedford, Ontario as a farm labourer. He married Ellen Lear after she arrived from England. He was later employed in Detroit, Michigan during the 1930’s and 1940’s. They moved back to Thedford, Ontario. Frank passed away on May 4, 1951 and is buried in Ferndale, Michigan. MOGGY, Douglas Blaine Douglas was born in Little Current, Ontario on January 19, 1954. He enlisted in the Navy in May 1972 and served on HMCS Huron with NATO. Upon discharge in February 1975, he went to work as a miner in Sudbury. He worked as a miner until his retirement in March 2020. He is a 46-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 503 in Onaping Falls, where he has been residing since 1976. MOCK, Ronald Ira “Ron” Ron was born in Owen Sound, Ontario on July 23, 1919. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 and discharged in 1945. He served in the Pacific. Ron moved to Hensall in 1949 with his wife Kay and raised their family of seven. He became the proprietor of Mock’s Dairy. Ron was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Hensall Branch 468 until his passing in 1993.
