381 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MILLER, Robert “Russ” Russ was born on March 17, 1928 in Rochester, New York, United States of America. He enlisted on January 25, 1949 with the Army Regular Force and served with the Artillery RCHA in Canada and Germany. He was discharged on April 2, 1976. Russ was a long-time resident of Picton, Ontario. Upon completion of service, he was employed as a Commissionaire on the base in Picton. Russ was awarded the CD with Clasp and Centennial Medal. He was a Life Member of the Legion and subsequently awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. He was an outstanding Legionnaire who served on many Executives, a Past President of The Royal Canadian LegionWellington Branch 160. His concern for the Veteran family was a noted duty. Russ passed away on April 13, 1920. MILLS, Raymond Clarke Raymond was born on January 24, 1919 in Pugwash, Nova Scotia. He enlisted on October 1, 1943 during World War II serving with the Air Force as a Pilot Officer being discharged on December 18, 1944. He reenlisted on March 15, 1945 with the Air Force serving in Canada and England. Raymond did not see any action even though he was sent to England, he transported things to Norway. His second discharge was on August 28, 1945. Raymond received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and War Medal 1939-1945. He resided in Chatham, Ontario from 1947 to 1972. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion in Chatham, Ontario for twenty years. Raymond passed away on November 21, 1990. MILLMAN, Frederick Earl Frederick was born on April 1, 1897 in Bosanquet Township. He enlisted in the Army on April 2, 1918 and served during World War I with the 1st Depot Battalion and 7th Field Company Canadian Engineers in Canada, England, and France. On June 20, 1918 he sailed to England arriving on July 7, 1918, then to France arriving on September 5, 1918. He returned to Canada on March 20, 1919 on the HMT Caronia and was discharged in April 1919. Frederick passed away in 1955.
