361 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND McINNES, Dougald Alexander Dougald was born in Bosanquet Township in 1896, the oldest in his family. He enlisted in 1914 for the Army during World War I, but was medically discharged before he could be deployed. Dougald worked for Ford Motor Company in Windsor, Ontario his entire career. He passed away in 1973. McINTOSH, James Duncan “Jim” Jim was born in Clayton, Ontario on August 31, 1920. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Artillery on June 30, 1941, in Kingston, Ontario. After training in Gananoque, Ontario and Sussex, New Brunswick, he disembarked in the United Kingdom on June 12, 1942, where he continued training while serving as batman to the regimental Colonel. On July 10, 1943, he landed in Sicily, where as a member of the 51st Anti-Tank Battery of the RCA he saw action in the Italian campaign before being killed in the battle of the Po River valley on September 4, 1944. Jim was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, Overseas Bar, and the War Medal 1939-1945. His grave is in the Montecchio British Empire Cemetery, Italy. McINTOSH, Donald John Donald was born on August 22, 1897 in West Williams Township, Parkhill, Ontario, the son of John and Mary Ann McIntosh. Donald enlisted in the Army in July 1918, joining the 1st Battalion Western Ontario Regiment and the 259 Battalion. Donald left Canada on December 26, 1918 and served in Siberia in January 1919 returning to Canada on the SS Empress of Russia in May 1919. He was discharged in June 1919. Donald died on April 1, 1933 and is buried at the St. Columba Cemetery Bornish.
