291 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND KEMP, Manford Walter Manford was born on February 13, 1887 in Bosanquet Township and lived near Thedford, Ontario where he worked as a farmer. He had done four summer camps with the militia. He trained with D Coy then Camp Borden and Queens Park. Manford sailed on SS Lapland on February 15, 1917 and was assigned to the CFC at Sunningdale. He later moved to 51 District, 117 Coy at Inverness, Scotland on November 21, 1917. He departed on May 7, 1919 on the SS Celtic and returned to Thedford. He was discharged on May 17, 1919. Manford passed away in 1982 at the age of 96. He is buried at Pinehill Cemetery in Thedford. KENNINGS, George Walter George was born on December 19, 1895 in West Williams, Parkhill Ontario. The family moved to Kelfield, Saskatchewan in 1916. George enlisted in the Army in June 1918 joining the 1st Depot Battalion and served in Canada. He was discharged in February 1919 and farmed in Alberta. George passed away on November 5, 1952 in High Prairie, Alberta. KENNINGS, Arthur Arthur was born on November 14, 1891, West Williams, Parkhill, Ontario. He moved to Strathcona, Alberta. Arthur enlisted in the Army on January 9, 1918 and joined the 1st Depot Battalion Alberta Regiment. His unit sailed on the SS Melita in February 1918. Arthur served in England and France with the 49th Battalion. Arthur was discharged on June 25, 1919, returning to farming in Peace River, Alberta.
