205 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND FISKE, Frederick William Frederick was born on November 16, 1897 in Hethersett, Norfolk, England. He lived at Doctor Barnardo Home and arrived in Canada in March 1906 on the Dominion. Frederick worked as a farm hand near Lieury, Ontario, West McGillivray Township. Frederick enlisted in the Army on December 11, 1915 joining the 135th Battalion. He sailed on the SS Olympic inAugust 1916 to England and joined the 125th Battalion. Frederick served in France on May 30, 1917 with the 4th Canadian Battalion. He was wounded at Passchendaele on the left leg and ended up in hospital from November 1917 to February 1918. He served again and was killed in action on September 27, 1918. He is buried at the Queant Communal Cemetery British Extension in Pas-de-Calais, France. Frederick’s name is inscribed on the West McGillivray Memorial. FLACK, Beaumont Sutton Beaumont was born in Natal, South Africa in 1881. He later resided in Dulwich, London, England and came to Canada to find work inArkona, Ontario. He enlisted with the 18th Battalion and served in England and France during World War I. Beaumont passed away on June 16, 1922 due to service-related pulmonary tuberculosis. He is buried in Arkona Cemetery. FITCHETT, William “Clayton” Clayton was born on August 6, 1896 in Thedford, Ontario. He was farming when he enlisted in the Army on October 30, 1917. Clayton was recruited in London, Ontario where he joined the 1st Battalion, Western Ontario Regiment. He sailed on the Pannonia on July 26, 1918 arriving in England on August 15, 1918. Clayton was in the hospital from September 5 to September 25 with the mumps in Witley, England. He was discharged on October 17, 1919.
