461 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WARD, Walter Thomas “Tom” Tom was born in Ottawa, Ontario on December 6, 1942. In December 1958, he enlisted with the RCA 30th Field Regiment Bytown Gunners. Tom was involved in many of the 21 Gun Salutes provided to Dignitaries visiting Parliament Hill. He attended his NCO courses with the Royal Canadian Regiment based in London, Ontario. He left the military and joined the Ontario Provincial Police where he served the Province for 31 years. Tom is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion. WARDEN, Roy “Chic” Chic was born in St. Catharines, Ontario on January 19, 1936. He enlisted in the Army on March 1, 1956 with the Royal Canadian Regiment and served in Canada, United States of America, Germany from 1964 to 1968, Cyprus from 1974 to 1975, and Jamaica. Chic married his soul mate, Colleen, on November 24, 1958. They had three children Randy, Rick and Carol. He was discharged on March 31, 1976. Upon his release, Chic served twenty years as a special constable with London Police Service. Chic was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Vimy Branch 145 for 49 years. Chic passed on April 12, 2019. WARDEN, Randy Philip Randy was born in London, Ontario on October 19, 1959. He enlisted in the Army on August 30, 1977 and served with Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. He completed his basic training in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia and trade training in Wainwright, Alberta. Randy was posted to 2PPCLI inWinnipeg and trained across Canada and the United States of America. He also served in Norway and Cyprus. In 1991, he returned to London, Ontario and served a further two years with 4RCR. Randy was discharged on October 23, 1983. He is engaged with various Veteran organizations. He served as President for The Royal Canadian Legion Vimy Branch 145 before appointed Zone Commander in 2019.
