435 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND TEDBALL, Robert Arthur “Bob” Robert was born in Bosanquet Township, Thedford, Ontario in 1930. He served in Korea as a Private with the Black Watch, RHC until his discharge in 1955. When Bob returned home, he married Elsie Robicheau and together they raised six children. Bob worked at Camp Ipperwash. Bob passed away on January 17, 1989. TETREAULT, Jacques Oliver Jacques was born in Sherrington, Quebec on October 31, 1946. He joined up in St. Jean, Quebec and got his contact training in Goose Bay, Labrador, completing his basic training at CFB Borden as a Transport Technician and then joining No. 2 Air Movement Unit at CFB Trenton. He also spent time with No 3 AMU at Canadian Force Base Uplands in Ottawa, CFB St. Jean with the VanDoos, eventually joining 436 Transport Squadron at CFB Trenton, as Load Master flying in C-130 Hercules aircraft. Jacques spent time at all the major bases in Canada fromVictoria, British Columbia to Gander, Newfoundland and overseas in Norway, Germany, Britain and in Cyprus with the UN. From 1980 until his discharge on February 12, 1984, he travelled across Canada as a Recruiting Officer. Upon retiring he moved back to where he grew up in Sherrington, Quebec. For the past few years, he and his wife Barbara have operated a large garlic farm, assisted by family, friends and on occasion, Veterans from their local Legion Branch. Jacques has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 79 Richelieu for over eighteen years. He has received the Peacekeeping Medal, United Nations Medal and 12 Year Service Medal. TEER, William John “Jack” Jack was born in Toronto, Ontario on July 16, 1917, son of Letitia Teer, and stepson of Michael J. Zaher. Jack and his brother Doug enlisted in 1939 for World War II. He served with the Royal Canadian Artillery 4th Anti-Tank Regiment through to September 1945 and lost his brother (killed in action) in 1944. By the winter of 1943, the German armies in Italy were defending a line stretching from the Tyrrhenian Sea north of Naples, to the Adriatic Sea south of Ortona. The Allies prepared to break through this line to capture Rome. Jack returned home to Toronto in 1945 and settled in Newmarket in 1957 with his wife Margaret Teer and four stepchildren, where he enjoyed life until his passing on April 17, 1992. He was laid to rest in the Newmarket Cemetery. Jack was a 35-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Milton Wesley Branch 426.
