397 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND SCOTT, Marvin Bruce Marvin was born in Belleville, Ontario, on June 18, 1940. He enlisted in December 1957 with the Army Signal Corp and started basic training Troop 141 and trades training at Vimy Barracks, Kingston, ON until April 1960. He was then posted to Alert Wireless Station April 1960 to November 1960 and then back to Kingston from November 1960 to October 1962. From October 1962 to May 1963, Edward was posted to the Congo with 57 Canadian Signals Squadron as a high security courier. He was posted to Vancouver Wireless Station in Ladner, BC as a Bus Driver from May 1963 to November 1963. Marvin was then posted to Camp Borden from November 1963 to May 1970 and worked as a Dispatcher at TPT Company. Due to a family situation, this was a compassionate posting. He retired from the Armed Forces to pursue a career in the Golf Business. In civilian life, Marvin was employed with several Golf Country Clubs in various capacities, also including being a salesman and truck driver for truck companies. He presently works as a groundskeeper and starter/marshal at Bellevue Golf Club. He is member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255 Riverside. SCOTT, Stephen William Stephen was born in Tillsonburg, Ontario, on August 11, 1894. He was employed as a bank clerk when he enlisted on January 29, 1916, with service unit CEF 3rd Battalion. Lieutenant Scott received the Military Medal during the Battle of Arras for “great courage and determination”, he was also promoted to Lieutenant. Stephen was struck by shrapnel in the vicinity of Canal du Nord and died on October 1, 1918 in Abancourt, France. SCOTT, Richard Richard was born in Calgary, Alberta on July 15, 1919. He moved to Kingsville, Ontario when he was about two years old. He enlisted in the Army on June 12, 1941 and served with the 69th Light Anti-Aircraft Battery in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany during World War II. He was discharged on December 7, 1945. Richard wrote a book entitled “The Story of the 69th Light AntiAircraft Battery, RCA”, published by the T.H. Best Printing Company, Limited. The book outlines their exploits including all members from beginning to end. Richard was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 188 Kingsville, Ontario for 51 years. Richard passed away on June 20, 1996.
