395 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND SCOTT, Jack Arthur Jack was born in Tillsonburg, Ontario on December 26, 1940. He attended Ipperwash Army Cadet Camp in 1956 and the National Army Cadet Camp in 1958 in Banff, Alberta. In 1958, he enrolled in the Canadian Officer Training Corps Program at the University of Western Ontario in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. Jack then received the Queen’s Commission upon completion of the required training through the Canadian Officer Training Corps Program in 1960. In 1961, he was Supply and Transport Officer with the Canadian Army. From 1962 to 1965, he was an Officer in the Canadian Army Milita, 4 Column Royal Canadian Army Service Corps, 132 Transport Company, 22 Service Battalion. Jack was Training Officer with No 9 London Secondary Schools Cadet Corps, Battalion Training Officer and Company Commander at Ipperwash Army Cadet Camp between 1966 and 1968. From 1969 to 1970, he was Officer in charge of the Canadian Armed Forces Officers’ Training Course for Cadet Instructor List Officers for candidates from across Ontario. He was also the Commanding Officer of No. 9 London Secondary Schools Cadet Corps from 1967 to 1973. In 1972, Jack received the Canadian Forces’ Decoration and was discharged in 1972. Jack has been a nine-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 145. SCOTT, John Gordon John was born in Sydenham Township, Ontario on April 2, 1922. He enlisted with the Army on November 7, 1944 and was in the signal corps. John’s unit was ready to ship out when the war was declared over so he never left Canada. He was discharged on September 26, 1945. John passed away on April 29, 1995. SCOTT, James Russell “Dan” Dan was born in Bosanquet Township on July 17, 1910 and was raised on a farm outside of Thedford, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in 1944 during World War II and trained at Ipperwash Camp in Ontario. He was sent to Halifax, Nova Scotia after training, and was to be shipped overseas but the war was declared over so Dan returned home to Bosanquet Township. As a civilian, Dan worked for Bosanquet Township as a road grader-operator. He married and raised five children. Dan passed away on January 5, 1975.
