379 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND ROBINSON, James Pentland James was born in Waterloo, Ontario on December 5, 1920, to Annie Gertrude (McCreary) and Andrew James Robinson of Waterloo. James worked at Dominion Life as a clerk in the Actuarial Department before the war. On June 4, 1940, he enlisted with the Army Highland Light Infantry of Canada. Lieutenant James Pentland Robinson was killed in action on July 8, 1944 in France and is buried in the Beny-sur-Mer War Cemetery in Calvados, France. He is gratefully remembered today as a “Son of Waterloo” and his picture hangs on the Memorial Wall in the City Hall of Waterloo, Ontario. ROCK, Armand Joseph Armand was born inWindsor, Ontario on October 23, 1940, He joined the Windsor Regiment on June 3, 1957. Armand was discharged in 1981. He was married in 1963 and raised three boys. After his discharge he worked at the Windsor Tool and Mold until his retirement. Armand is a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594 and was the Legion President from 1991 to 1995. He says the Military taught him self-confidence, leadership and humbleness. ROBINSON, William James “Jim” Jim was born in Belleville, Ontario on July 13, 1941. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1959, served in the Air Force with Communications and Electronics Branch (CELE). Jim attended the Royal Military College in Kingston in 1960 and graduated in 1964. Jim served in Canada and the United States of America being discharged in 1987. After being discharged he went on to work, first for the Public Service in Ottawa and then as a Consultant for both Government and Private Industry and he finally retired in 2002. Jim is a nine-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Almonte Branch 240.
