373 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND REYNOLDS, John Edwin John Edwin Reynolds was born on November 6, 1912 to Sylvester and Ethel Reynolds in Barrie, Ontario. He had one sister named Nancy. He was a ‘jack of all trades’ but was best at carpentry. He enjoyed dancing, square dancing and was also a square dancing caller. On June 20, 1940, John enlisted with the Army and served in England during World War II. He was discharged on September 29, 1945 to return to civilian life. John was married to Isabel and they had five daughters: Mary, Lynne, Gloria, Susan and Debbie. John was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Kitchener Branch 50 andWaterloo Branch 530. He passed away on October 14, 1993 at the age of eighty and is buried at Innisvale Cemetery. His name is inscribed on Plaque #5 of the Waterloo Legion Veterans Memorial Wall. RICE, Robert Myrick Robert was born in Norwich County, Ontario on July 22, 1915. He was married and living in Tillsonburg when he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Unfortunately, he was involved in a fatal training exercise on July 28, 1943 at Aylmer RCAF Training Base. Twelve flying instructors and 26 students lost their lives training at this No. 14 Service Flying Training School during the war. He is buried in Tillsonburg Cemetery. RIALL, Robert William Robert was born in England on January 6, 1912. On July 23, 1943, he enlisted with the Air Force during World War II serving in India until his discharge on November 26, 1945. Robert received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, 1939-1943 Star, Defence Medal, War Service Badge. He worked at Toronto Star at the age of fourteen and returned to position after service. Robert passed away on December 19, 1969.
