345 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND PACEY, John William “Jack” Jack was born on October 17, 1925 in Hamilton, Ontario and the family moved to Windsor, ON in 1927. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1942 during WWII. After training in Halifax, he served on the High Seas with HMCS. Jack was discharged in 1945 after his service in the war and returned to Windsor, ON. He married Frances and they raised two daughters. Jack lived and worked in the Windsor area, retiring as District Chief of Windsor Fire Fighter Services. He passed away December 22, 2017. PARKER, Arthur “Leonard” Leonard was born in Thedford, Bosanquet Township, Ontario in 1919. He served as a Chief Petty Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy in World War II. He was on the HMCS Provider in the North Atlantic Theatre. He was discharged in 1945. Leonard returned to marry and have one child. In 1966, he received Honors BA in English, and Masters in Library Science in 1971. He was a librarian for the Federal Civil Service in Kingston. Leonard spent his last few years at North Lambton Lodge until his passing on May 3, 2012. PALMER, Leonard Harvey Leonard was born in Brainton, England on December 31, 1919. On September 28, 1939, he returned to Tillsonburg from Idaho and a week later travelled to British Columbia to enlist with the Princess Pats, then was shipped to the United Kingdom in December. In January 1943, he was granted permission to marry a young lady from Tillsonburg and live in Surrey, England. Private Palmer was sent to Italy in February 1944 and was killed accidentally while training on May 10, 1944.
