319 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MILLS, Terrance Joseph Terrance was born in Moncton, New Brunswick on May 20, 1958 to Muriel Janet Richard and Joseph Anthony Mills. In 1973, he enlisted with the 1st Hussars “C” Squadron Sarnia Ontario at the age of fifteen years old. His brothers, Donald and Gary, followed him and enlisted shortly after. In 1976, Terry was assigned to the 8th Canadian Hussars for Olympic Security in Montreal. He spent twenty years with the 1st Hussars and was honourably released in 1993 with Canadian Decoration Long Service Medal at the rank of Sergeant. Terry has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62 for the past 26 years. Currently Terry is a bagpiper playing with the Sarnia Legion Pipe Band holding the position of Pipe Sergeant. MONKMAN, John Wesley John was born on February 1, 1889 to Gilbert and Mary near Dobbinton in Arran Township, Ontario. He attended SS Number 4, Arran Public School. He enlisted on June 11, 1918 in London, Ontario with the Canadian Engineers and served duringWorldWar I. He returned from England in March 1919 on the HM Hospital Ship Araguaya due to pneumonia rendering him unfit to serve. Private Monkman was discharged on March 11, 1919 and moved to Kingston, Ontario. His brother Thomas was killed in action in France on June 8, 1916. Wesley passed away on December 5, 1963 and left a wife and a daughter, Marguerite. MOLOY, Malcolm Frederick “Mac” Mac was born in Thedford, Ontario on June 9, 1921 to Fred and Ora Moloy. Mac was a Dieppe Veteran of World War II serving with the Essex Scottish Regiment from 1940 to 1945. He was a prisoner of war for three years and was member of The Essex Scottish Association. Mac was a district manager of the Brewers Retail and served as manager in Thedford and Grand Bend. He was also an avid curler. He was predeceased by his parents, his wives Verna McCordic and Marion Shearer (Burley), sons Freddie and Warren and stepson Reid, two sisters and one brother and survived by daughter Cindy Sovie and family and stepson Shane Burley and family. Mac was a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Thedford Branch 278 and Grand Bend Branch 498. Mac passed away on August 18, 2004.
