285 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MAJOVSKY, Gary Albert Gary was born in Sudbury, Ontario on June 12, 1954. He enlisted with the Navy on October 7, 1974. Gary served on HMCS Iroquois and HMCS Ship Huron. He was based at CFB Shearwater, Nova Scotia. Gary was deployed to various NATO and Stanavforlant Missions. He also became a ships diver through the Clearance Divers Branch. Gary was discharged on October 22, 1980. He is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62. MANDERSON, Bruce Phillip Bruce was born in Toronto, Ontario on April 29, 1913. He was raised on a farm in Myrtle Station, Ontario. He was a son of George Arthur Manderson, who also served in World War I and World War II. Bruce worked along with his brother Frank at their uncle’s Ideal Bread Company in Toronto in 1937. When war broke out, he enlisted with the Canadian Army. Bruce worked in the engineer section, doing road and bridge construction in France. Bruce married Amy Delves, his English war bride, in 1946 in Montreal and they had two children, Ruth and Euan. They settled in Blackstock, Ontario. He worked 36 years with the Canadian Pacific Railway before retiring. Bruce passed away on February 26, 2001 in Oshawa and is buried in Groveside Cemetery in Brooklyn, Ontario. MALCOLM, Frank Edwin Frank was born in Tillsonburg, Ontario on June 2, 1891. He moved away from his family and Tillsonburg but when World War I started, he enlisted in the Army in Calgary, Alberta on October 5, 1915. He served with the 10th Battalion (Calgary) in France. OnAugust 8, 1918, Frank was shot during an attack NorthWest of Caix, France and he passed away. His Family shared a few of his letters with the Tillsonburg Observer wherein he wrote about life in the trenches.
