229 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND JARRIETT, James Clifford “Jim” Jim was born in Windsor, Ontario, on February 25, 1944. He enlisted with the Canadian Army inWindsor on May 31, 1944. He did his depot training in London, Ontario and was transferred to the Royal Canadian Regiment in Ipperwash. He was shipped to Germany where he served for Two and half years. While in Germany, he was a member of the Canadian Brigade Track and Field and CrossCountry Team, and they placed first in 1963, 1964, and 1965 against the Canadian Brigade, second against the Second Division British Army and again second against the Second Division British Army on the Rhine. He was also on the Duke of Edinburgh team for marksmanship. Jim was discharged on June 25, 1965. He went to work for General Chemical for 36 years and during that time he volunteered for the Amherstburg, Anderson and Malden Ambulance Squad for eight and a half years. During that time, he married and raised two sons. Jim has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Fort Malden Branch 157 since October 2018. JENNINGS, Charles Thomas Charles was born in Kidderminster, England on July 6, 1873. Charles served for two years during the Boer War before immigrating to Canada in 1908. He enlisted with the Army on January 6, 1916. Leaving his wife and small son, he enlisted into the 168th Canadian Expeditionary Force Oxford’s Own. Serving with the 43rd Battalion of the Canadian Infantry, he was killed in action while in the trenches south west of Avion on June 28, 1917 at the age of 44 years old. JENKINS, James Robert “Jim” Jim was born in Perth-Andover, New Brunswick on June 12, 1940. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on August 12, 1958. After training, he served in the RCAF Station Summerside, Greenwood, Halifax, 3 Wing Zweibrücken, 4 Wing Baden; Ismailia, Egypt; NDHQ Ottawa and HMCS Nipigon. He was discharged on October 10, 1985. He was awarded the Canadian Forces Medal with Clasp, United Nations Emergency Force Medal, Queens 25th Jubilee Medal, Peacekeeping Medal and Special Service Medal. Jim resides in Smiths Falls and is a past President of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95.
