225 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND HUTTON, Geoffrey M. N. Geoffrey was born in London, Ontario on August 31, 1944. In October 1961, he enlisted with the Army and served in Canada, Cyprus, Germany and United Kingdom with the Royal Canadian Regiment. Geoffrey attended Western University for Canadian Officer Training Centre, worked in the National Defence Headquarters OPI Small Arms, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Future Small Arms. Graduate UK Royal Military College of Science. Exchange UK Defence Intelligence Inf NDHQ Deep Project Dir Survivability LAV Recce and Close Area Suppression Weapon. Geoffrey was discharged on August 31, 2009. He is also a Market Manager for General Dynamics Canada, Established Uffington Consultants. Geoffrey is also a Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Vimy Branch 145 for twelve years. JACKSON, Ray Donald Ray was born in Chesley, Ontario on May 3, 1921. On June 9, 1941, Ray enlisted with the Army 1st BN, The Royal Riffles of Canada. During his service in World War II, he was in Canada and Hong Kong. Ray was killed in action on December 23, 1941 just before the surrender of Hong Kong. His engraved watch with his regiment number on it was found in the dirt where he died on a hillside at Stone Hill near Stanley, Hong Kong by Dave Willott a member of a military history group on March 27, 2017. It was later returned to his great nephew Stephen Burgess at a presentation by the Hong Kong Veterans Commemorative Association in Canada in May 2017. ISBESTER, Jethro “Jeff” Jeff was born in Wiarton, County of Bruce, Ontario on August 25, 1917. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on July 28, 1942 having previously sailed on the Great Lakes and the Eastern Maritime seaboard. He served on several fighting ships during World War II such as HMCS Montgomery and HMCS Stratford seeing action on convoy duty in the North Atlantic until the end of hostilities in 1945. He was elected President of The Royal Canadian Legion Wiarton Branch 208 in 1963 and awarded the Legion’s Meritorious Service Medal in 1998. Jeff passed away on July 1, 2001.
