159 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND FITCHETT, Bruce Bruce was born in Bosanquet Township, near Thedford, Ontario, in 1918. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II and trained in Canada, then England. He served in England and France and was discharged in 1946. Like his brother, Bruce also married a Scottish girl. After the war, Bruce and his wife moved to Detroit, Michigan, USA, where they raised three daughters. Bruce passed away on September 26, 1998. FITTON, Charles N. Charles was born onApril 18, 1955 in Ironbridge, England, to James and Rosemary Fitton, who also had six other children: Lois, Andrew, Susan, Laura, William and Robert. Charles received his formal education at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Education. He joined the Army Reserves with the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada in 1972 and served in the Middle East with the United Nations Emergency Force in 1977-78. During his time with the Royal Canadian Fusiliers of Canada, he attained nearly all ranks and on his retirement in 2011, L/Col Fitton had recently handed off Command of the Royal Highland Fusiliers in 2010. He is currently a member of the 2018 Regimental Council, supporting Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada soldiers through fundraising events and community outreach. Charles is also a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Galt Branch 121 in Cambridge, ON. FITCHETT, Malcolm “Mac” Mac was born in Thedford, Ontario, on November 6, 1922. He left the farm and enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy which brought him to the High Seas and in England. Mac met a Scottish girl, married, and returned to Canada. He was employed at Westinghouse in Hamilton. Mac and his wife raised two sons. He passed away on February 4, 2000.
