519 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WRIGHT, John Albert John was born in Enfield, Middlesex, England on April 4, 1926. He joined the Army in May 1944. He was posted to Egypt as Military Police transferred to SIB. He was demobilized in 1947. From 1947 to 1955 he served with the Metropolitan police in London, England. He immigrated to Canada in 1955 and joined the RCAF police, serving mostly in special investigation services in Germany and Newfoundland. He was heavily involved in the Boy Scouts from 1960 to 1975. John retired in 1966 and started his own business working until 1996. He is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 133 in Cobourg. YOUNG, Roy Harvey Roy was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on April 16, 1918. He enlisted in the Navy in 1939. He served on the High Seas on the HMCS Montreal as Stoker during World War II. He was discharged in 1945 and he settled in Goulais River north of Sault Ste. Marie. Roy passed away on October 1, 1998. YOUNG (MILLWARD), Olive Maude Olive was born in Sault Ste. Marie on September 17, 1919. She enlisted in the Army in 1939. She served in Canada during World War II in the distribution Depot in Toronto. She was discharged in 1944. Olive owned school buses in Goulais River. She passed away on April 2, 2017. Olive’s father was Ernie ‘Tipper’ Millwood the first President of the Great War Veterans Legion in Sault Ste. Marie Branch 25.
