511 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WILKINS, William J. “Bill” Bill was born in Montreal, Quebec on June 21, 1938. He enlisted in the Army on September 21, 1954 with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals. He received the UNEF Medal (Egypt 1956 to 1957), ONUS (Belgian Congo 1962 to 1963) and the Canadian Forces’ Decoration (CD) with Bar. In 1967 he served on the CAF Motorcycle Display Team which toured Canada from May to September Centennial Year Celebrations. His trade was a Group 3 Signals Electrician. Bill remustered in 1974 to RSASC as a Group 3 Safety Supervisor. He was discharged in September 1978. Bill then worked as an Operations Manager and Purchasing Agent for a local welding supplier and is now retired. Bill was elected to Vice-President to Ontario Command serving two terms from 2001-2005. He is a fifty-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion North Bay Branch 23. WILSON, Harold Eric Eric was born in Richmond Hill, Ontario on February 22, 1921 and enlisted in the Air Force on June 25, 1940 after graduating from Richmond Hill High School. Physical description at enlistment: 5 feet, 9 ½ inches tall; 159 pounds; brown hair; light brown eyes; and medium complexion. His occupational history was as a farmer for two summers. He expressed intent to attend university after his discharge. Warrant Officer 1st Class Harold Eric Wilson went missing in action on December 6, 1942 while serving with the RCAF 107 Squadron in air operations over Germany. The body of one of Eric’s fellow crew members was recovered at sea, so it is presumed the plane crashed at sea. Eric is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial, Surrey, UK and his name is inscribed on the cenotaph in Richmond Hill, Ontario. WILLIAMS, George Ager George was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario on November 15, 1941. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in July 1959, and arrived on a succession of ships including HMCS Swansea, HMCS Columbia, HMCS Kootenay, HMCS Bonaventure and HMCS Chaudière. He left the Navy in November 1967 to return to Niagara Falls. He worked at Can-Eng Manufacturing from 1968 to 1979 and Ferranti Packard Transformers until retiring in 2005. George is a member of RCNA Niagara Region.
