509 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WILCOX, Prescott Prescott was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, USA on March 11, 1926. He enlisted in the Army and served in Canada, England and Italy with the West Nova Scotia Regiment during World War II. He was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, War Medal 1939-1945, Italy Star and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Overseas Bar. He was wounded in action in Italy and returned to Canada. Prescott is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 9 in Windsor, NS. WILKINS, Peter John Peter was born in Coventry, England on July 7, 1931. He enlisted in the Navy on March 18, 1947. He served on the High Seas and in Canada during the Korean War. Peter was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration, Korean President and US Navy Citations and the NATO Special Service, UN Korea and the Gold and Diamond Jubilee Medals. He transferred from the Royal Navy to the Royal Canadian Navy on June 2, 1949. He was discharged on December 6, 1974. He served as President of West Carleton Branch 616 before transferring to Kanata Branch 638 where he has been a member for fifteen years. WILKES, Gerald B. Gerald was born in Galt, Ontario July 14, 1924. He enlisted in the Navy in June 1943. He served on the North Atlantic on HMCS St. Thomas during World War II. HMCS St. Thomas sank the U877 on December 27, 1944 and they saved all of the U Boat’s crew. Gerald was discharged in December 1945. He is a seven-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch in Cobourg.
