493 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WARREN, WilliamWoodrow William was born in Delaware Township, Middlesex County, Ontario on January 19, 1915. He enlisted in the Army on November 18, 1941 with the 15th Field Ambulance, RCAMC. On his arrival in England, William was shipped to Aldershot where he met up with his brother. During his time in the United Kingdom, he met Jessie, a Scottish lass, and they were married in Cupar Fife, Scotland. After hostilities ceased, William, Jessie and their young son returned to Canada. After his discharge on November 15, 1945, William worked in several bakeries in the Delhi area and then hired on with Ontario Hydro and worked with the company for more than twenty years, in various locations in Ontario. After his retirement, the family moved to London, Ontario. William passed away on May 17, 1987. WATSON, Claude Rothwell Claude was born on July 24, 1918 in Smith Falls, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on September 2, 1941 and served with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers during World War II. Claude served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe and was discharged on December 5, 1945. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the 1939-1945 Star, the France and Germany Star and the Defence Medal. He married his English War Bride Betty and later they had twin girls Beverley and Barbara. They settled in Quebec and later Ontario. He was President and Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 139 Streetsville, Ontario. Claude passed away on November 30, 2004. WARWICK, Murray Alfred Murray was born in Hamilton, Ontario on June 8, 1921. The sonWorldWar I Veteran Frederick Henry Warwick and Dorothy Latimer, Murray enlisted in the RCAF on August 6, 1942 as aircrew. On February 20, 1943 in Hamilton, Ontario, he married Elsie Laura Skitt. In November 1943, he was posted to Summerside, PEI. On April 15, 1944, Pilot Officer Warwick was flying inAnson as a Navigator and went missing over the Bay of Fundy. The entire crew was presumed dead later that day and neither the crew nor aircraft has ever been found.
