461 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND STEWART, Donald Donald was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on December 7, 1925. He enlisted in the Navy on December 7, 1941 and served on the Indian Ocean, in the Battle of North Atlantic, the Italian Campaign and the Pacific Campaign. Donald was discharged in January 1946. He is a 65-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 269 Penticton, BC. STEWART, John Cecil John was born in Lion Head, Ontario on October 9, 1920. He joined the Army on January 15, 1942. He served in Italy, Netherlands and Cyprus during World War II. John was discharged on March 14, 1945. He returned home, married Dorothy, and they had three daughters. John kept a lighthouse at Stokes Bay, Ontario and was a school custodian. He also worked at Avro as a security guard. John and his brother Bruce bought Harrower Fisheries where he worked until his retirement. John passed away in November 9, 2008. STEWART, Gordon Alexander Gordon was born in Ailsa Craig, ON on May 31, 1915. He enlisted in the Canadian Army (Active) at Petawawa, ON onAugust 29, 1942 to serve inWWII with the Royal Canadian Artillery. After his training he was shipped to England for further training and ended up serving with the 6th Anti-Tank Regiment of the 33rd Battery throughout France, Germany and Holland. His medals include the 1939-1945 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and the War Medal 1939-1945. Gordon was discharged on January 26, 1946 at the rank of Gunner at Wolseley Barracks where he eventually became employed as a civilian working for the Military, cataloging Army Vehicle parts for 27 years. He was a member of the Ailsa Craig Branch 422 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 44 years. Gordon passed away on February 8, 1991 at the age of 75.
