429 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND SCHUTZ (CZAJKOWSKI), Olga Olga was born in Windsor, Ontario on March 4, 1943. She enlisted for service in the RCAF on March 8, 1961 and took her basic training at St. Jean, Quebec during the start of the Cold War with the Bay of Pigs Invasion in April 1961, Cuban Missile Crisis in October 1962. She transferred to Cold Lake, AB which brought her together as co-workers with the Quebec French Airwomen. In fall 1962, she was selected as military secretary toA/V/M of Air Defence Command, St. Hubert, QC. Olga obtained her LAW designation in fall 1963 and took a posting to Germany. Her Air Force training and service was deeply embedded in her. She was faced with the decision to re-enlist or come home and marry. She was honourably discharge on March 7, 1964 and was married two months later to her husband, Joseph. They have four children worldwide, ten amazing grand-children, and one happy great-grandson. Olga is now retired after 48 years in the administrative/accounting work force. She is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255 in Windsor, ON as well as an Active Member of the Branch 255 Colour Party. She is also a Member and Volunteer for the Windsor Veteran’s Memorial Services Committee. SCOTT, Walter Walter was born on May 17, 1909 in Nottingham, England. He joined the Elgin Regiment in St. Thomas on August 28, 1940 and went overseas with the Elgins, but was injured during a sports field day held in England. When he was healed and came out of the hospital, the Elgins had already left for the front and he was then sent to the front with the Fort Gary Horse Regiment. He served in Holland, France, Germany, Britain and Canada during World War II. He was discharged on October 11, 1945. He worked for the Canadian National Railroad after the war and retired in 1970. He was the Sergeant-at-Arms for The Royal Canadian Legion Sir Arthur Currie Branch 116 for 25 years. He was also a Life Member of Branch 116. Walter passed away on June 21, 1971. SCOTT, Ronald Clarence Ronald was born on February 15, 1940 in Strathroy, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in 1959 and served with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in Germany, Cyprus, Egypt and Canada. Ron was a proud career member of the Canadian Army. He snow skied for the Army in Germany and won a gold medal for Canada. Cancer took his life far too young, Ronald passed away on July 24, 1983. He was a ten-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Sir Arthur Currie Branch 116 in Strathroy.
