407 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND ROBERTS, John Edward John was born on June 5, 1919 in London, Ontario. He enlisted in the Air Force on June 7, 1940. He served with the No. 6 Repair Depot, Alberta during World War II. John inspected maintenance work on aircraft and usually had the pilots take him up for a ride to ensure firsthand that those aircraft were indeed airworthy. He was discharged in December 1945. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the King George Medal. After his discharge, John worked for a glass company in Strathroy, Ontario and then took employment with a tool impact company, where he remained for about ten years. He then worked for a controls company, from which he retired and took up residence in St. Thomas, Ontario. During his retirement years, John entertained residents in nursing homes in the St. Thomas area with his keyboard abilities. John passed away on October 2, 2015. ROBERTSON (LLOYD), Joanne Lesley Joanne was born in Mönchengladbach, FRG, Germany on October 12, 1965. She enlisted in the Air Force on February 16, 1987. She served in Canada, Germany and UAE until her discharge on May 1, 2014. ROBERTSON, Andrew Michael Andrew was born in Hanover, Ontario on March 28, 1964. He enlisted in the Air Force on May 9, 1983. He served with the 1 Canadian Air Division as A6 Chief Warrant Officer from 2013 to 2014 and later with the 17 Wing/CFB Winnipeg as Wing Chief Warrant Officer from 2014 to 2017. He served in Canada, Golan Heights and UAE until his discharge on January 7, 2018.
