367 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND NEEB, Henry John Henry was born on January 18, 1895 in Gads Hill, Ontario to George and Clara (Seebach) Neeb. Henry had eight brothers and sisters: Ken, Herbert, Clemence, Shirley, Walter, Harold, Joy Elizabeth and Gordon. Henry received his elementary schooling in North Easthope and then went to the Stratford Business College. World War I broke out and Henry took his training at the 1st Depot Battalion and was shipped overseas to England in 1918, shortly before the war came to an end. On June 25, 1924 Henry married Irene Strebel and they had three children: Kenneth, ShirleyAnne and Joy Elizabeth. Henry worked at the Tavistock Milling Company where he served as Secretary/Treasurer until retirement in 1961. Henry passed away on Monday June 17, 1985 and is buried at the Tavistock Cemetery. NEILSON, George George was born in Appleton, Ontario on November 21, 1885. He enlisted in the Army on June 5, 1916 and served with the No. 2, Dft Field Ambulance Department. George was wounded in action in France and was sent to Hospital in Boulogne and then on to war hospitals in Shrewsbury and Baschurch. He was shot through the left hip and out the right thigh. He spent the rest of his life with a stiff hip and knee. George was discharged on May 21, 1919 having served in Canada, England and France during World War I. He passed away in 1968. NEEDHAM, Harold George Harold was born on June 12, 1942 in Bowmanville, ON. In 1957, shortly after he turned fifteen, he joined the reserve as a member of the 57th Locating Artillery Unit. In 1959 he enrolled in the COTC while attending university and in 1962 he was posted to the artillery serving until 1966 when he re-badged to infantry and joined the Royal Montreal Regiment serving until 1969. He again served with the Artillery in 1971 and from 1975 to 1979 re-badging to infantry joining the Governor Generals Foot Guards until retiring in 1986 as the Deputy Commanding Officer. He is a Royal Canadian Legion member of Branch 638 Kanata.
