355 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MORGAN, R. John F. John was born in Sutherland, Ontario on November 4, 1925. He enlisted in the Army on July 19, 1944 with the Queen’s Own Rifles. John was discharged in 1945 having served during World War II. He married Mae Rellinger on August 25, 1950. He had five children: Janette, Marilyn, Carolyn, Ross and Todd. He had five grandchildren and five great-grandsons with one more great-grandchild on the way. He loved hunting, fishing and supported local hockey and baseball in Listowel. John passed away on December 6, 1981. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Listowel Branch 259. MORTON, Albert Douglas Albert was born on August 17, 1917 in London, Ontario. He enlisted in the Navy in 1940. He served on the HMCS Cornwallis in the North Atlantic from 1940 to 1945. Albert married Nina and had three girls. He passed away on September 18, 2000 at the age of 83. MORNAN, John Frederick John was born in Toronto, Ontario on July 6, 1925. He enlisted in the RCAF in 1943 during World War II. He won his pilot’s wings at Uplands Airport in 1945. He reenlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1948 in Weather Services. From 1950 to 1952, he was stationed in Fort Churchill, Manitoba. In 1953, he was sent to No. 3 Wing RCAF, Germany on temporary duty. In 1955, he was back at RCAF Station in Trenton, Ontario and was at Cold Lake, Alberta (RCAF Station) from 1957 to 1959. From 1960 to 1970, he taught at the School of Meteorology in RCAF Station Trenton, Ontario. He was a Warrant Officer 1st Class. In 1970, he was Officer-in-charge of the Weather Office in Windsor, Ontario at Windsor Ontario Airport. John was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Kingsville Branch 188 for 65 years. He passed away on December 23, 2018.
