311 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MARION, Normand J. C. “Norm” Norm was born in Montreal, QC on December 4, 1953. He joined the infantry in 1973 and served three years as a paratrooper with the Canadian Airborne Regiment – including Cyprus 1974 war – then four years in Germany in mechanized infantry with Royal 22nd Regiment (the “Vandoos”). He transferred to the Photo Tech trade with the Air Force in 1979 and served as photographer and cameraman for 21 more years with the Regular Force – including Gulf War and NATO work in Norway. He transferred toAir Reserves in 2000 to serve in Public Affairs role. He retired as Master Warrant Officer in 2013 with forty years of service. He was awarded the Order of Military Merit (MMM) in 1999, the RCAF Commander’s Commendation twice and named 2002 Airman of theYear by the RCAF Association. He was also awarded the Queen’s Silver Jubilee (1977) and Golden Jubilee (2002) Medals. He now serves with The Royal Canadian Legion’s Branch 270 in Coldwater. MARSH, David W. David was born in Toronto, Ontario on May 31, 1958. He enlisted with the Queen’s Own Rifles on March 10, 1975. He was stationed at several bases in Canada and served a tour of duty with the United Nations Emergency Force II stationed in Ismailia, Egypt in 1978 to 1979. Dave has been awarded the foreign Decoration Medal for service with the UN, the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal and the Corrections Exemplary Service Medal with Bar. He was discharged in 1980 and joined the Ministry of Correctional Services in Ontario, and after 34 years retired as the Superintendent of the Windsor Jail. Dave is retired and has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion since 1981 and is currently 2nd Vice-President of Branch 399 in Belle River, Ontario. MARRIOTT, Reid Russell Reid was born on May 24, 1895 in Plympton Township, Lambton County, Ontario. A farmer, he enlisted on May 29, 1918 in London, ON. He was a Private in the 1st Depot Battalion, W.O. Rgt. He arrived in England on August 15, 1918. He was discharged on October 2, 1919 at Toronto, ON. On November 19, 1919 in Enniskillen Township, Lambton County, he married Mae Elizabeth Dobbin. They had a family of six children. After her death, he married Lulu (McPhail) Weatherstone. Reid was for many years a proud member of The Royal Canadian Petrolia Legion Branch 216. He passed away in Petrolia on April 17, 1991.
