241 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND HOBBS, Timothy David Timothy was born in Nuneaton, England on May 5, 1955. He enlisted in the Army on April 14, 1977 with the Royal Canadian Dragoons, Branch Lore (RCME). He served Fire Control Systems Technician at the rank of Acting Corporal in Canada and West Germany. Timothy was discharged on April 14, 1981. HOGLE, George Earl George was born in Belleville, Ontario on July 13, 1941. He joined the Canadian Army in May 1962. His trade was a Radio Operator with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals. The units in which he served were: 2 Sig Squadron, Petawawa; 4 Sig Squadron, Soest, Germany; 8th Canadian Hussars, Petawawa; 1 RCHA, Lahr, Germany; 1 Sig Squadron, Calgary, AB; 73 Sig Squadron, Ismailia, Egypt being employed as an air/ground/air radio operator with 116 ATU (RCAF) in Ismailia and Jerusalem, Israel. He finished his career with the SSF Sig Squadron and 8th Canadian Hussars retiring in 1987 with the rank of Warrant Officer. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 517 in Petawawa for sixteen years. HODGES, Leslie J. “Les” Leslie was born on July 12, 1944 in Kingston, Ontario. He enlisted in the Navy in 1959 and served on the HMCS Algonquin, HMCS Fraser, HMCS Haida, HMCS Huron, HMCS Saguenay, HMCS St. Croix, HMCS Cornwallis, HMCS Hochelaga, HMCS Shearwater, HMCS Halifax and HMCS Stadacona. He served as a Peacekeeper at CFB Halifax, CHS Mill Cove and Thunder Bay (RSS) NDHQ. He retired after 48 years in 2008. Les passed away in 2014. His family was awarded the Silver Cross.
