229 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND HEBERT, Anthony Albert Anthony was born in Windsor, Ontario on July 14, 1920. He enlisted in the Air Force on June 17, 1941. He was the Navigation Officer on Halifax Bomber #HF648 of #22 Operational Training Unit. The aircraft crashed on take-off and all aboard were killed. The accident happened on November 9, 1942. He is buried in grave 4047 Evesham Rd Cemetery in Stratford on Avon, England. He was 22 years old. HEFFERTON, Daniel Keith Daniel was born in Valleyfield, Newfoundland on May 27, 1978. He enrolled in the Canadian Force Reserve at St. John’s, Newfoundland on November 27, 1998 as a Mobile Support Equipment Operator (MSE OP). After basic training he completed his trades training and was posted to 36 Service Battalion in St. John’s, NL. He attained the rank of Corporal before transferring to the Canadian Forces Regular Force on February 19, 2001 as a Combat Engineer. He completed his trades training and was posted to 2 Combat Engineer Regiment in Petawawa, ON. Daniel completed one operational tour in Afghanistan (Kabul 2003). His medals include the General Campaign Star. He was released from the Canadian Forces at the rank of ‘Sapper’ in February 2004. He currently works in Emergency Management and operates a training company that teaches self-defence and military close quarter combat programs. He is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 136 Milton. HEDD, Allan George Allan was born in Bell Island, Newfoundland on July 31, 1949. He enlisted in the Army with the Queen’s and served in Canada as a Reservist. He is a 32 year Royal Canadian Legion member of Branch 286.
