219 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND HANNAN, Robert Charles Robert was born on November 4, 1917 in Ottawa, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on May 12, 1944 with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps. He served in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe during World War II. He was discharged on February 4, 1947. Robert was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the War Medal 1939-1945. HANSEN, Edward Anderson “Ted” Ted was born in Acton, Ontario on January 28, 1917. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1942. He served during World War II screening recruits in Toronto. After service, Ted joined The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 197. He directed The Choraliers a group of Legion singers who sang at Expo 67 in Montreal. He continued his teaching career as Principal of Acton High School. He raised three sons, Chris, John and Paul. Ted passed away on May 15, 2000. HANRATH, Theo “Ted” Ted was born on May 7, 1935 in Fort de Kock, Sumatra. He enlisted in the Dutch Marines in 1955. Ted was on active duty in the war of New Guinea as a Lieutenant of the Dutch Marine Corps he also served with the Marine MZ Seals. He was discharged in 1958. Ted is a member of the Legion Branch 638 Kanata and has been for five years.
