467 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WARREN, Roy S. Roy was born in Westport, Ontario on January 26, 1920. He enlisted in the Army on June 27, 1941 with the Canadian Army Service Corps No 1 Company Canadian Forestry Corps. He served in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe during World War II. He was discharged on March 15, 1946. Roy was awarded the 19391945 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and 1939-1945 War Medal. After his discharge, Roy worked at Alcan in Kingston, Ontario until he retired. Roy passed away on February 22, 2008. WEDGE, Henry Clifford Henry was born in Acton, Ontario on April 16, 1926 and he attended Peacock School. He enlisted in the Army on July 12, 1944 with the Canadian Infantry Corps (active). He was discharged on May 7, 1946. He married Eileen Gordon and they had two boys. He worked as a Carpenter and then PL Robertson in Milton. He was a proud Life Member of the Acton Legion Branch 197 and received the appreciation award for his hard work. Henry passed away on January 29, 2014 at the age of 88. WAYE, Gordon D. Gordon was born on December 10, 1919 in Picton, Ontario. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served as a wireless operator on HMCS Camrose when the message came in that war declared with Japan after Pearl Harbor was bombed. He was air crew instructor with British Empire Commonwealth Plan, instructing Australian, New Zealand, and the Free French. After the war, he was posted to 435 Transport Squadron. He flew prisoners to Nuremburg Trials. This was the last plane in and out of Czechoslovakia before the Russian take over. Gordon also flew in and out of France, Italy and Africa. He flew DC3 back to Trenton from Europe in 1946. He was discharged in 1946. Gordon passed away on July 10, 2005.
