451 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND TROUPE, William Ellsworth II “Ducky” William was born in Wainfleet, Ontario on January 11, 1930. He enlisted in the Army in 1945 and served with the Algonquin Regiment during World War II. He was discharged in 1946. On release, he joined the Lincoln and Welland Reserve Regiment. William was President of the Legion Branch 71 for twenty years. After that, Ducky was the drum major for the Frontier Branch 71 pipe band. His had membership with the Legion for fifty years. William passed away on November 24, 2003. TUNWELL, Donald Ernest Donald was born on April 2, 1929 in Ottawa, Ontario. He enlisted in the Air Force in November 1947 during Peacetime with Logistics. He served in Canada, the US and spent six months in Ismailia Egypt as a member of the United Nations Emergency Force Middle East. He was discharged in December 1977. TRYON, Lloyd S. Lloyd was born on August 26, 1942 in St. Catharines, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in February 1961; recruited in Petawawa, Ontario. Lloyd served with the Canadian Guards. In 1962, he was transferred to Germany and stationed at Fort York, Soest as a member of NATO during the Cold War. From 1964 to 1965, Lloyd served as Peace Keeper in Cyprus before returning to Picton, Ontario. He received an honourable discharge in 1968. Lloyd joined the Oshawa Police in 1969 and later moved to the Durham Regional Police Service. Here he served in the Uniform Branch, Undercover, the Drug Unit, Intelligence and Criminal Investigations. He retired in 1981 with the rank of Detective. Lloyd immediately was employed by Ontario Hydro in the Security Department and retired in 2007 after 26 years of service. Lloyd has been a member of the Legion Branch 43 for 25 years.
