He enlisted in the Army on March 24, 1942 with the Royal Regiment and served in France and England during World War II. He was wounded while serving in France and was discharged on October 2, 1946. William passed away on June 2, 1995. SMITH, Arden Neil Arden was born in Sault Ste. Marie on January 11, 1923. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served as a gunner on the North Atlantic Sea onboard HMCS Griffon, Givenchy and Stadacona during World War II. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to Sault Ste. Marie and worked at ACR as a welder. He married Joan and they had two children, Jane and Andy who lived in Echo Bay. Arden passed away on February 24, 1983. SKAGFELD, Jon Donald Donald was born on July 10, 1941 in Luton, Bedfordshire, United Kingdom. He enlisted in April 1958 and served in the Army and Air Force in Canada and Germany. He was attached to Signal Corps, Lorne Scots, Royal Regiment of Canada and Cadet Instructor Cadre. Jon was discharged in March 2004. He served the Military for 37 years and retired as rank of Captain. He has been a member of two Legion Branches Major Wm. Dwight Sharpe Branch 15 in Brampton and 464 Chatsworth for a total of 21 years.
