421 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND SIMCOE, Wellington Wellington was born in the Rama First Nation, Ontario in 1897. He enlisted in the Army on April 13, 1916 and served in Canada and in England with the 122nd Overseas Battalion. He was the son of David Simcoe and Charlotte Taylor. He was a brother to William, Benjamin, John and David. He married Sara Victoria Williams prior to enlistment in January 1916. He was discharged in April 1918. Wellington passed away in the 1970’s. SISLER, Byron Cooper Byron was born in Lemonville, York, Ontario on June 2, 1894. He enlisted in the Army on June 14, 1915 with the Central Ontario Regiment. He served in England, France and Belgium during World War I. He fought at Vimy Ridge, the Battle of the Somme and Passchendaele. He was discharged on May 17, 1919. Byron passed away on January 30, 1951. SIMCOE, William William was born in Curve Lake First Nation, Ontario on April 16, 1893. He enlisted in the Army on January 28, 1916 and served with the 157th Overseas Battalion, 116th Overseas Battalion in Canada, England and France during World War I. He was discharged on August 30, 1918. He married Alma Jacobs and they had two children, Murdoch and Plais. He worked as a labourer and farmer in Rama. He was a brother to Wellington, John, David and Benjamin.
