377 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND REIMER, John V. John was born in Scarborough, Ontario on January 26, 1923. He enlisted in the Air Force on October 13, 1942 at the #11 recruiting centre in Toronto. He trained as a pilot then transferred to Air Gunner and he was awarded an Air Gunners Badge. He served in England during World War II and flew in Wellingtons A/C Bomber Command. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Award with Clasp and British War Medal. John was discharged on February 26, 1946 and returned to Canada where he married and became an Architectural Draftsman. John excelled in his profession in California. He passed away on February 26, 2009. REMY, Thomas A. Thomas was born on September 2, 1936 in Parry Sound, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on July 17, 1953 as a Peacekeeper with RCEME and served in Canada, Egypt and Germany. He was “Boy Solider” from 1953 to 1955 and took the HMCS Magnificent to Egypt in 1957. He was discharged on March 18, 1972. Thomas has been a member of Legion Branch 6 for 44 years. REIMER, Kenneth G. Kenneth was born in Scarborough, Ontario on November 25, 1924. He enlisted in the Air Force on September 23, 1943 and graduated with Certificate of Honour and a commission as Pilot Officer. He trained in Canada and went overseas in England and in Germany during World War II. He served with the 437 Squadron Odiham Hants England. He went on to receive a promotion as Flying Officer inspecting staging post in Germany. He received five provincial and federal recognition awards including the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and War Medal 1939-1945 with Clasp. He was honourably discharged on July 16, 1946 and transferred to the reserve RCAF in 1946. He married in 1947 and became a horologist and gemologist. Kenneth retired in 1982. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 69 years.
