327 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MORROW, James Lloyd Lloyd was born in New Liskeard, Ontario on July 22, 1925. He enlisted in the Canadian Army (Active) December 6, 1943 and posted to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia for his basic training. His vehicle technician advanced training was completed at CFB Borden while his driver training was in Woodstock, Ontario. He also completed Wireless training at Vimy Barracks in Kingston, ON prior to sailing from Halifax to Liverpool, England. Further training was completed at Cove just south of London and at Brighton, England. The war ended while he was in a holding platoon waiting to be shipped into action. He was honourably discharged at the rank of Private in March 1946 in Toronto, ON. Lloyd’s decorations include the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and the War Medal 1939-1945. He worked with the Ministry of Transportation for Ontario for 31 years after his discharge. MOSZCZYNSKI, John Richard John was born in Pischenieka near Kielce, Poland on February 5, 1921. He joined the Army in 1942 with Company 4012 AK. He served in Europe during World War II. He was wounded in the leg, his unit helped in the liberation of the Death Camp Dachau and he received many medals. He was posted under General Patton towards the end of the war and was posted in Munich, Germany where he met his wife. They had three choices of placement and they picked Canada and landed in Toronto. MOSHER, Harvey Allen Harvey was born in Summerville, NS on October 17, 1939. On April 22, 1958 he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Communication Systems Technician Air (MOC 522). Harvey worked on a number of aircraft such as F-86 Sabre, CF104, CF 101 Jet Fighters, Sea King Helicopters and the Argus aircraft. He participated in the Colour Guard for US President Dwight Eisenhower and Princess Margaret on their visit to Ottawa. During the FLQ crisis in Montreal he was tasked to follow school buses ensuring children’s safety. His postings included Clinton ON, CFB Penhold AB, 3 Fighter Wing Zweibrucken Germany, Bagotville PQ, CFB Shearwater NS, HMCS Preserver, Aurora Detachment Burbank California, CFB Greenwood NS and NDHQ (Rockcliffe) Ottawa. After 29 years, Harvey was honourably discharged on May 7, 1987 at the rank of Sergeant. His medals include the Queen Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee Medal, Special Service Medal (NATO) and the Canadian Forces Decoration with Clasp. He has been a member of Legion Sir Arthur Currie Branch 116 for 46 years.
