271 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND LINDSAY, Thomas Thomas was born in Londonderry, Ireland on July 23, 1892. He enlisted in the Army on September 13, 1915 and served during World War I with the 91st Battalion, 21st Canadian Infantry Division, C.E.F in Canada, England and France. Thomas had the rank of Private and was wounded at Vimy Ridge. He received the 1914-1915 Star, WWI British Medal, WWI Victory Medal, WWI Wounded Stripe, WWI War Service Badge and the BESL Canadian Legion Lapel Pin. He was discharged on October 18, 1919. Thomas passed away on January 2, 1964. LISTER, Stanley R. Stanley was born in the Township of East York, Ontario on August 28, 1923. He enlisted in the Army on May 28, 1942. He served with the Royal Regiment of Canada during World War II in Canada, England, France and Holland. He was discharged on January 11, 1946 and then took up employment as a brick layer and later twenty plus years as a Toronto Police Dept. He was a member of Legion Branch 22 and later Branch 614 for a total of 38 years. Stanley passed away in 1979. LISTER, James L. James was born in the Township of East York on January 5, 1928. He enlisted in the Navy on September 24, 1945 and served on the HMCS St Boniface, HMCS Uganda, HMCS Warrior and HMCS Haida. He was discharged in September 1950 but re-enlisted in the RCNR in July 1952 and served until July 1957. He was qualified as Anti-Aircraft Gunner and Leading Seaman. After being discharged he was employed at East York Water Revenue Dept. for 35 years. He has been a member of the Woodbine Heights Legion Branch 22 in Toronto for 64 years.
