253 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND LACHANCE, Nelson Joseph Nelson was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on December 18, 1940. He served in the Navy, Army and Air Force. Sgt. Lachance served on ships of the Royal Canadian Navy and also bases of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He also served with the UN in Cyprus. Prior to his retirement he served with the #2 Service Battalion Special Service Force in Petawawa, Ontario. He is a member of the Legion Branch 261 and a Legion member for twelve years which included membership at other Branches as well. LAMBLE, Larry Alfred Larry was born in Lindsay, Ontario on September 3, 1946. He enlisted in the militia in September 1963. He would have stayed longer in the reserve service but the militia units across Canada were disbanded. He was discharged in March 1966. Larry is the son of a World War II Veteran and grandson of a World War I casualty. He started working for the TD Bank and continued his career in the financial world with various companies. He has been member of Brigadier General G.H. Ralston Legion Branch 30, Port Hope for the past forty years and he was Ontario Command Honourary Treasurer from 2009 to 2011. Larry continues to serve in various positions within Branch, Zone and District F. LAFRANCE, Aime Joseph Aime was born in Cornwall, Ontario on July 16, 1922. He enlisted in the Army in 1941 with Royal Canadian Army Service Corp during World War II. He was wounded in Italy in 1944 but recovered in England and was honourably discharged in Kingston, Ontario on July 8, 1944. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Mediterranean. He was married and had twelve children. Aime worked as a pipe and steam fitter in various provinces in Canada. He was a member of the John McMartin Memorial Legion Branch 297 and had been for 36 years. Aime passed away on March 21, 1982.
