249 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND KISH, James Washington James was born in Frontenac County-Bedford Township Village of Westport on November 2, 1872. During World War I, he enlisted with the Army on February 22, 1916 with the 156 Bn. CEF and No 3 Special Service. He served in Canada and was discharged on August 20, 1917 as medically unfit for service, having rheumatism and heart problems. James passed away on September 13, 1959 and is buried in a Veterans plot Cataraqui Cemetery in Kingston, Ontario. KOSCIELSKI, Frank Frank was born in Aaran, Saskatchewan on March 5, 1924. He enlisted in the Army in October 1942 with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and trained at Fort Osborne and Shilo, Manitoba. He went overseas in Europe in May 1943 during World War II. Frank died on September 11, 1944 as a rifleman in the Regina Rifle Regiment, Royal Canadian Infantry Corps and is buried in the Calais Canadian War Cemetery in Leubringhen, France. In 1974 the Manitoba Government designated a lake at Latitude 58˚43’ 29” Longitude 97˚46’00” Koscielski Lake in his honour. KISH, John Archie “Arch” Arch was born in Inverary, Ontario on April 26, 1916. He enlisted in the Army on September 6, 1939 with the RCA 1st Field Battery during World War II. He served in Canada and was medically released on February 15, 1940. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. He married and raised a family, drove transport, taxi, sold cars and painted homes. He also had a small farm. Arch was a member of the Bob Richardson Legion Branch 496 and was for twelve years. He passed away on May 10, 1980 and is buried in the 496 Legion Veterans Plot Sydenham Cemetery-Frontenac County.
