245 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND KISH, Albert James “Ab” Ab was born in Inverary, Ontario on May 4, 1925. He enlisted in the Army on February 4, 1944 with the Armoured Corp (Trooper) during World War II. He served in Canada and was discharged as medical on September 18, 1944. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. He returned to Kingston, married and raised a large family. He drove transport. Ab passed away at fifty on June 11, 1975. He is buried with his wife Irene in Latimer Cemetery, Frontenac County. KISH, Andrew Wellington “Andy” Andy was born in Glenburnie, Ontario on August 29, 1923. He enlisted in the Army on March 9, 1943 with Highland Regiment during World War II. He was a dispatch rider and suffered minor wounds after hitting an enemy trip wire. He served in Canada, England, France and Germany during World War II. He was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the 1939-1945 War Medal. Andy was discharged on May 3, 1946. He re-enlisted in the Army for a three year period from 1949 to 1952 and served at Artillery Park Kingston. He then returned to civilian life where he drove transport until his death at age 52 on March 2, 1975. He is interred at Cataraqui Cemetery in Kingston. He was a member of the Kingston Legion Branch 9 and was for four years. KISH, Andrew Andrew was born in Bedford Township in Frontenac County on June 3, 1893. During World War I, he enlisted in the Army on March 3, 1916 with the 146th Battalion (CEF) and 4 CMR 3 Canadian Division. He served in Canada, England, France and Belgium during World War I. He was killed in action in France during a gas attack before Passchendaele but after Vimy, Hill 70 on December 9, 1917. He is buried in Aubigny Communal Cemetery just outside Arras, France. He left behind many family members including a wife and two children.
