231 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND KELL, James Crichton James was born in Owen Sound, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on August 23, 1943 with the Medical Corps. He served as an orderly at a Prisoner of War camp in Monteith, Ontario and as a stenographer in London, England during World War II. He was discharged on August 26, 1946. KELLER, Gerald Fredrick “Jerry” Gerald was born on September 11, 1919 in Madoc, Ontario. He left high school to enlist in the Air Force during World War II. He attended St. Thomas Technical Training School, was an Electrician working on aircrafts and served in England for three years. He returned home July 1945 and was discharged on October 15, 1945. His father Hugh Keller passed in October 1945 and had looked after Madoc Hydro at the time and Jerry continued his work and supported his widowed mother. Following the purchase of Madoc Hydro by Ontario Hydro, Jerry continued to work for Hydro until his retirement. Gerald passed away on September 3, 1992. He was a member of Madoc Legion Branch 363. KELLER, Claude Roderick Claude was born on July 14, 1915 in Healey Falls, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in 1943 in World War II and served in Canada as an Electrician. After the war ended, Claude stayed in service. He was killed in a car accident on September 7, 1961; he was still serving in the Army and had been assigned to duty in Sault Ste. Marie. He is buried in Healey Falls in the Keller’s Cemetery. He was a member of Madoc Legion Branch 363.
