511 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND STRAIN, Clifford C. Clifford was born in the Netherlands. He enlisted in the Air Force and served with the RCAF, 76 Squadron, RAF in Canada, England, and Europe during World War II. Sgt.-Air Gunner Clifford and his crew were lost on a huge bomber command mission to Duisburg on April 26-27, 1943. It is suspected that they fell victim to a German Night Fighter. His is commemorated at the Amsterdam New Eastern Cemetery and also on the Cenotaph in Omemee, Ontario. SWEETMAN, Glen A. Glen was born in Oshawa, Ontario on June 2, 1952. He joined the Army in July 1969 and served with the Service Corps and the RCEME. Glen spent two tours in Cyprus. The first tour was during the war of 1974 and the 2nd during more peaceful times in 1982. He spent three years in Lahr, West Germany and then four years in Baden. He was a qualified Jumper and enjoyed three years in Edmonton with the Canadian Airborne Regiment. He was discharged in September 2000. Glen has been a member of Comox Legion Branch 160 for 44 years. SUTTON, Robert Douglas Robert was born in Saltburn, England on November 10, 1932. He enlisted in the Army in 1953 and served with the 34th Light AA Regiment in Dover, Kent, England as a Reservist. He was discharged in 1955 and moved to Canada in 1957. Robert has been an active member of East Hamilton Legion Branch 58 for seven years and after moving north, Apsley Legion Branch 381.
