481 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND ROBINSON, Arthur C. Arthur was born in the Lucan area of Ontario on January 24, 1901. He enlisted in the Canadian Army before his eighteenth birthday and served with the Canadian Expeditionary force in Europe during World War I. While Arthur was serving in Europe, he had been dusted with mustard gas during the war and believed this to be the reason he lost his hair and remained bald his whole life. Upon returning to civilian life, he held positions as Deputy Reeve and Reeve having served on the Caradoc Township Council for nine years. He was employed with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires at Westminster Hospital in London. He passed away on May 13, 1966 at the age of 65. ROBINSON, Robert A. Robert was born on November 19, 1931 in London, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps in October 1950 at London, Ontario and proceeded to Camp Borden for his training. He started out as a baker and later was employed in the transportation division. After further training at CFB Shilo, Manitoba, Robert prepared for deployment and served in the Korea conflict. His medals include the Korea Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal for Korea and United Nations Service Medal Korea. Robert was honourably discharged in September 1953 at the rank of Private. He passed away on February 14, 1993 at the age of 61. ROBINSON, Basil L. Basil was born in Stirling, Ontario on June 21, 1917. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served with the Signals Corps in British Columbia, Canada; Aldershot, UK; Amsterdam, Holland; and Belgium during World War II. He was a Dispatch Rider and rode a motorcycle to deliver communications. He also served part of the time as a Truck Driver and Infantry. Basil got married on May 22, 1943 prior to being sent overseas to Nola Green in Campbellford, Ontario. He was discharged in 1946. He was a member of The Brigadier General G. H. Ralston Legion Branch 30 for twenty years. Basil passed away on February 18, 2012.
