469 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND RENAULT, George W. George was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on February 1, 1920. He enlisted in the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals in the United Kingdom and continental Europe during World War II. His medals include the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, the 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, and the Defence Medal. After the war, he was an electrician, then superintendent of Great Lakes Power. He was active in Wawa Legion Branch 429 for over fifty years, and served as President and Zone Commander. George passed away on August 5, 1995. REYNOLDS, Roy Arthur Roy was born in Neepawa, Manitoba on May 17, 1914. He enlisted in the Air Force and served as a heavy mechanic on Lancaster Bombers in England during World War II. He moved to Sarnia after the war where he got married on June 26, 1946. Roy worked and retired from Polystar in Sarnia. He was a member of 403 Wing Air Force Club in Sarnia and attended meetings and luncheons. Roy passed away on December 24, 2011. RENWICK, William Johnston William was born in Hamilton, Ontario on January 31, 1925. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 in Fort Benning, Georgia, USA and served with the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion, B Comp. 4 Platoon in Canada, England, and France during World War II. He jumped into France on D-Day, June 6 at 1:09 A.M. before the water landings and was captured June 9 in Varaville, France. He was a prisoner of war in Stalag IVB near Muhlberg, Germany. He was discharged in 1945. He was a proud veteran and legionnaire. He was a member of Richmond Hill Legion Branch 375 for 56 years and was awarded Life Membership. William passed away on June 16, 2013.
