467 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND REED, Norman L. Norman was born in Fergus, Ontario on November 30, 1920. As a young lad, Norman used to spend his holidays at his Grandpa Davis’ farm at Tara. The farm is now being run by fourth and fifth generations of the Davis family with a big new dairy barn with a robot doing the milking. He enlisted in the Air Force on October 9, 1941 and served with 428 Squadron in Canada, England and Germany during World War II. Norman was killed in action on September 23, 1943 in Mannheim, Germany. His name is on the Cenotaph in Tara, Ontario. REIMER, Lawrence D. Lawrence was born in Herbert, Saskatchewan on August 1, 1932. He enlisted in the Army on August 21, 1950 and served with the 2nd Battalion, PPCLI in Korea, USA and Canada during the Korean War. He served in Korea from November 1950 to November 1951. As the 1st Canadian Battalion in Korea, they relieved the Special Service Force in Action at Kapyong; 2 PPCLI. He received the US Presidential Unit Citation. Lawrence was discharged on February 20, 1952. He was a member of Duchess of Kent Legion Branch 263 in London, Ontario. Lawrence passed away on August 19, 1996. REID, Robert McCrinnon Robert was born and raised in Pinewood, Ontario on June 17, 1919. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1940 and served as Air Gunner with Bomber Command during World War II. His wife served with the Women’s Royal Air Force. He was wounded and wed his nurse whom came to Canada. Robert was discharged in 1945. He has been a member of Fort Frances Legion Branch 29, Milton Legion Branch 136, and Forest Legion Branch 176 for a total of 45 years. Robert passed away on May 3, 1992.
