447 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND PARKER, Meldrick Douglas Meldrick was born in Moulinette, Ontario on March 28, 1930. He enlisted in the Army on August 16, 1950 and served in the Special Force in Canada, United States, and Korea during the Korean War. Meldrick was awarded the Korean Medal and the United Nations Medal. After his discharge on October 22, 1952, he worked for thirty years with Ontario Hydro and after his retirement worked with the Commissionaires for seventeen years. He was a member of Brockville Legion Branch 96 for 62 years. Meldrick passed away on April 17, 2014. PATERSON, William D. William was born in Toronto, Ontario on September 28, 1924. He enlisted in the Air Force on November 19, 1942 and served with the Alouette Squadron in Canada and England during World War II. He assisted in administrative work, particularly during closing of bases in the Maritimes. He also played for the Squadron’s Baseball and Hockey teams at various postings. William was discharged on November 26, 1946 and was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He has been a member of Earlscourt Legion Branch 65. PARKS, Claud W. Claud was born in Harlow, Ontario on March 11, 1899. He enlisted in the Army on December 15, 1915 and served with the Artillery in England, Belgium and France during World War I. Claud was not wounded and returned to the family farm in Harlow after the war. He was a member of Gordon Gaylord Legion Branch 334. Claud passed away in October 1989.
