445 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND PANABAKER, Arthur O. Arthur was born in Doon, Ontario on September 10, 1915. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps in Canada during World War II. He was discharged in 1946. He was a member of Port Perry Legion Branch 419. Arthur passed away on April 2, 2006. PARK, Herbert Garnet Garnet was born in Mount Albert, Ontario on January 21, 1915. He enlisted in the Army on March 27, 1942 and served with the Prince of Wales Rangers in Canada during World War II. Garnet was a ski patrol trainer based in Jasper Park, Alberta, to train for Lord Lovat Scouts so they would be ready for the MTS in Italy (High Security Secret). He started at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Prince of Wales Rangers and was then sent to Prince George, BC; Terrace, BC; Nanaimo, Vic.; then to Jasper, AB. He was sent home due to a duodenum ulcer and was discharged on December 15, 1944. Garnett passed away on March 7, 2012. PAQUETTE, Edward A. “Ed” Ed was born in Tecumseh, Ontario on October 6, 1926. He enlisted in the Navy in the mid-1940s and served aboard HMCS Uganda from the Mediterranean to the South Pacific via the Suez Canal during World War II. After calling in at Sydney, Australia, the Uganda took part in the battle for Okinawa. Following discharge in 1946, Ed returned to private life retiring as sales rep for Carling Okeefe Breweries. He was a member of Hanover Legion Branch 130 for over fifteen years. Ed passed away on April 30, 2008.
