443 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND OSTAFICHUK, Michael James Michael was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on March 30, 1967. His interest in the Military started as an Air Cadet in 1980 when he joined the 742 Squadron in Ottawa. He progressed and enrolled into the Reserve Force on December 12, 1985 as a Medic then re-mustered to the Intelligence trade where he spent the remainder of his career until his retirement on December 14, 2006 as a Sergeant. In 2000-2001 Michael served as a Peacekeeper in Bosnia attached to 2 PPCLI. In 2012 Michael renewed his interest in the Air Cadets and joined 778 Squadron Richmond Hill as a Civilian Volunteer. Michael was decorated with the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, the NATO SFOR Medal and earned his Canadian Decoration. Michael has also earned the Peace Officer Exemplary Service Medal in 2015 for over twenty years of service as a Peace Officer with the Canadian Government. He has been a member of Richmond Hill Legion Branch 375. OVERTON, David K. David was born in Croydon, England on February 26, 1933. He enlisted in the Army on June 15, 1951 and served with the Army Catering Corp attached to 1st Battalion Black Water Watch RHR in Korea and Germany. He was discharged on June 16, 1953 and immigrated to Canada. Both of his sons have careers with the Canadian Forces, Matthew K. Overton and Nathan D. Overton. David has been a member of Forest Legion Branch 176 for ten years. O’SULLIVAN, Gerard Gerard was born in Brandon, Manitoba on June 27, 1916. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1939 and served in England during World War II. He was discharged in 1945. Gerard passed away on June 1, 2003.
