439 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND O’CONNOR, Patrick William Patrick was born in Sarnia, Ontario on February 5, 1924. He served with the RCNVR during World War II from 1941 to 1945 on convoy duty from Newfoundland to Londonderry and mustered out at the end of the war. Patrick also served with the RCR 25th Brigade, 2nd Battalion as a stretcher bearer in Korea from 1950 to 1951. Patrick was killed in action on May 30, 1951 in Chai Lil, Korea. He wrote a poem on May 29, 1951 while in Korea. OLIVER, Thomas Wesley Thomas was born in Toronto, Ontario on March 23, 1926. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in September 1943 and served in Canada, Iceland, and Scotland during World War II. He was discharged on January 1945. Flying Officer Oliver was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the Atlantic Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and the Victory Medal. He was a member of Harry Brown V.C. Legion Branch 497 for 66 years. Thomas passed away on March 9, 2012. OLAN, Warren Richard Warren was born in Cavan Township, Ontario on January 19, 1920. He enlisted in the Army in 1941 and served with the 2nd Armoured Brigade in England and Holland during World War II. Warren was a member of Millbrook Legion Branch 402. Warren passed away on May 2, 1991.
